Helge Hellberg, Executive Director of Marin Organic, and a dozen or so North Bay residents gather at Star Route Farms to glean vegetables left behind after the main harvest as part of the Marin Organic School Lunch and Gleaning Program – which delivers healthy local and organic foods to over half of all Marin County schools, every week.
“Taste of Marin” is an annual showcase of Marin County’s local agricultural bounty, presented by Marin Organic, one of the most progressive sustainable agricultural organization in the United States, and Marin Agricultural Land Trust, the first agricultural land trust in the nation. Guests enjoy organic food, artisan cheeses, and local wine and beer, meet the people that grew, raised, or crafted their food, and learn how our everyday food choices affect our well being, our culture and the health of the planet.
